Service and food were top notch. The starters were lovely. The Rotolo was packed with flavour, and the 500g steak was cooked perfectly, and went great with the confit garlic.
Excellent restaurant! Visiting Merimbula for a few days some friends recommended this place and we were beyond impressed! The atmosphere is warm and stylish and the staff were knowledgeable and friendly. Music wasn’t too loud and the ambiance was lovely. Food was absolutely delicious! They make their own pasta and you can tell it’s amazing! Wine was also delicious they have a fabulous selection of wines and cocktails too.
Very lovely spot. The service was exactly what a tradional-ish Italian restaurant should be like.... there, but not in your face and they knew when to pop in and say hi. The food was lovely, cant fault it at all... if it ain't broke, dont fix it. Atmosphere fantastic, no blaring music, can hear your partner across the table, but still hear the tunes which befit the space. Well done, Bar Monti. The touches on the birthday message for my partner were also very much appreciated. Will be back.
Absolutely amazing pastas and tiramisu. Easily better than 90% of Italian food in Sydney. Cream Fettuccine was amazing - highly recommend!
We had such a beautiful experience at Bar Monti that we went two nights in a row. Everything from the atmosphere to the service was exceptional and consistent.
Very impressed with the quality. I tried three entrees in my first visit. The calamari, the arancini and the fried gnocchi. The calamari was traditional Mediterranean calamari. The fried gnocchi with wiped ricotta and mortadella was also very clever and tasty, perfect mix of textures. The spinach and the cheese arancini bala were quite good too. Coming back to try the steak…

A sophisticated Italian restaurant that really delivers on an overall exceptional dining experience and a must visit in Merimbula. The 500g Florence Style Sirloin Steak with Confit Garlic was probably one of the most delicious and tender steaks I've ever eaten, so was definitely worth it even for its price. This paired very well with the Peperonata side salad. I usually don't order pasta in most places, but I was intrigued and very happy that I ordered Rotolo Pumpkin Ricotta, with Walnuts, Fried Sage and Brown Butter. This was a quite unique and tasty pasta dish that reminded me of a rolled baklava with walnuts, which is always a good thing. Tiramisu was solid as well 👌.
Arrived here tonight not hungry enough! Service was lovely, friendly and efficient. Crumbed stuffed olives were a taste explosion on the tongue. Recommend.
